The Poppy Group uses a team of associate coordinators to execute our clients’ weddings. These coordinators are hand-selected by our founders, as talented event coordinators. Many of our associate coordinators come from corporate event planning backgrounds, bringing a high level of professionalism and extensive event experience to your wedding planning experience. After an initial phone call with one of our founders, we will pair clients with an associate coordinator that we feel will be a good fit for your wedding. You will have the opportunity to speak with your assigned coordinator prior to retaining The Poppy Group either via phone or in person.

As a reasonably laid-back bride I needed Kate more than anyone. She made sure everything that we needed to think about and discuss ahead of time was reviewed, and handled everything else herself. She made an effort to understand our vision for the day and, more importantly, how and where we wanted to be involved and what things were truly important to us and what things we weren’t so bothered about. Everything went absolutely seamlessly on the day - vendors all turned up where and when they were supposed to, all the guests had a wonderful time and were well looked after, every detail we’d discussed was perfectly executed and we were able to enjoy ourselves and not worry about a thing!

Our wedding coordinator, Jenn, was fantastic! She was organized, pleasant to work with, and offered valuable advice based on her experience planning many weddings. We could relax on our wedding day knowing that she was on top of everything, and the wedding turned out perfectly!

She made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, expertly handled a small emergency that came up with my wedding bouquet (which turned out fine thanks to her), and kept the perfect balance of checking in with me and allowing me to enjoy the day without worrying about the details.

Amy did a splendid job with our wedding! With so many things that went wrong (as one could expect), she pulled through with flying colors and ensured that no one knew that anything out of the ordinary had happened.

Our wedding had just under 200 people attend, and it was a destination wedding for many. Plus, Amy had to contend with my mother’s controlling and demanding behavior - all with a cool face and calm demeanor! Amy Nichols and Kate Whelan founded The Poppy Group in 2015 to serve clients specifically looking for an affordable and reliable Month-of Coordination solution. While many couples choose to do the majority of the wedding planning on their own, we believe it is essential that couples turn the reins over to a professional enabling them, their family & their guests to enjoy the wedding day. With their combined 15+ years in business in the Bay Area, Kate & Amy founded The Poppy Group to help clients streamline the month-of wedding coordination process, by pairing couples with Associate Coordinators who can finalize all of the details prior to the wedding day. Both Kate & Amy are regarded as industry experts, and are often quoted and featured in national publications and popular wedding blogs.
